International Journal of Nursing, Healthcare and Hospital Administration · Vol. 1, No. 2 (2026) · Published 2026-08-08

Abstract

This study examined the relationship between progressive technological innovation and nursing proficiency in the modern healthcare environment. Specifically, it assesses nurses’ perception of digital tools, automated systems, and artificial intelligence (AI), evaluated their level of nursing proficiency in terms of adaptability, efficiency, skill enhancement, and competence, and determined the extent to which technological innovations influence nursing practice. Guided by the Technology Integration and Adaptation Framework, the study employed a quantitative descriptive-correlational research design. Data were collected from nurses through a structured survey questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings revealed that nurses generally held positive perceptions of progressive technological innovations, particularly regarding the use of digital tools for documentation, communication, and patient monitoring. Respondents also demonstrated high levels of nursing proficiency across all measured domains.
